Casting call 1

Ok, the BBC aren't filming it; the BBC aren't aware of its existence; it's not published yet; it's not finished yet, but...  Who else on God's green earth could do the earl of Warwick justice?

Nice - loved him in Middlemarch. Personally I have James Purefoy though! Check out the 'George and The Dragon' gallery!

I always thought James Purefoy would make a good Kingmaker (he rocked as Marc Antony in Rome), at least in my film about the Wars of the Roses- but you're right, Rufus Sewell is tres intense and hot. I loved him as Charles II.

Oh, and if we can't get Sewell or Purefoy, there's always Richard Armitage, but he might be a tad too young.

All three are excellent choices. We could hold an open call, I'm sure we could find something for each of them. Purefoy for me doesn't have quite enough edge, though I haven't seen a great deal of his work. Maybe we can give him Montagu? And there has to be something we can do for Armitage, waste of good talent if there isn't. But for me it's a lay down misere for Sewell.

I think you're right, Ragged Staff, Purefoy's temperment would make a good Montagu, but I can easily see Armitage in the role as well. Come to think of it, having seen Purefoy as Beau Brummell, he might make a good Hastings. But then again, so might Rupert Graves, Mathew Macfadyen, Damian Lewis, or Rupert Penry-Jones...

As for EIV, I was thinking of Henry Cavill. Not the best actor and a bit shallow, but 6'2" and pretty. But that's for Casting call 2.

Time to go now- There won't be a miniseries or film about late 15th century England anytime soon, and I have to get back to this thing called REAL LIFE.

Thanks Caroline. For some of us, this is real life. :-)

Here's my daughter's recommendation for E4. He's tall and pretty, but we'd have to put him on a high carb diet to bulk him up, bleach his and, oh yes, check to see if he could act.

I start acting like a giggling school girl when I see pictures of Richard Armitage. I think he should be in anything and everything.

What about the ladies? I think Sophie Marceau would be a good Margaret of Anjou. I also like Rachel Weiss, but she seems a little too sweet to be queen during such a turbulent time.

Elizabeth, your suggestions are noted with thanks. (This was going to a one-off drooling opp, but it seems to have developed a life of it's own! I think there's definitely going to be more casting calls!)
